Site Launch and Maintenance Checklist

Last updated: November 2025

Before you start spreading the word about your site and / or anytime you make updates to your site, use this checklist to confirm everything is working correctly. Your Djangify Mini eCommerce Site is built for stability and security, so most of this is simply about awareness and good habits.

Confirm Everything Displays Correctly

Visit your homepage and check:

  • All text reads clearly and fits within the layout.

  • Product images load properly and look sharp.

  • Buttons link to the correct pages (Shop, Checkout).

  • Your featured products section is showing the right items.

If you notice missing images or old text, edit from your Homepage Settings or Products section and click Save.

Test a Full Checkout

Your site has been fully tested already and products added for you but if you want to test it feel free. Place an order yourself or get someone you trust to buy something. You can always issue a refund via Stripe afterwards. You can test that:

Before buying your name and email are already on the checkout page
After buying you receive a success message with download link
You receive an email confirming your order as the customer and one as admin that an order has been placed
You can log in and download the product from the dashboard area
The money is in your Stripe account
The details of the order are in the admin area

Any issues feel free to get in touch but rest assured that everything has been set up and tested before handover.

Review Your Policies

This is very important. Open Info Pages → Policy Pages and check:

  • Refund Policy — includes your business name, email, address and terms.

  • Privacy Policy — clearly states how you use customer data.

  • Terms of Use — defines your store’s general terms and limits of responsibility.

These pages protect both you and your customers. Keep them visible and up to date.

Verify Email Delivery

Email delivery has been set up and verified by us. We will probably have used your email details during authentication so you already know emails are being received. Otherwise go through and buy a product (or ask someone you trust to do it) to verify email delivery.

Check File Security and Downloads

  1. Go to Products → Digital File for each product. Make sure the product has been uploaded.

  2. Ensure every product has the correct file linked.

  3. Test one download to confirm it works. You can do that by purchasing a product but this has already been tested.

Djangify automatically protects download links, so customers never see your file URLs directly.

VPS and Domain Setup

This is a reminder that your VPS hosting is active for three months with:

  • Secure SSL certificate

  • Automatic weekly backups

  • Full access to your control panel

If you plan to move your site later, request a datadump (see Backing Up and Restoring Your Site). We recommend letting your new hosting provider handle any migration.

Maintain Your Site Monthly

Your site does not require daily attention, but a quick monthly check helps it stay healthy. This will be done for you during the first three months but in the future just:

  • Log in once a month to confirm updates are displaying.

  • Check your order list for new customers.

  • Verify that all download links and policies still work.

  • Back up your data if you have made major updates.

  • Remove any free users with no activity (optional)

If you prefer hands-off maintenance, you can request ongoing Djangify hosting beyond your initial three months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to update my site software myself?
A: No. Djangify handles all security and software updates during your hosting period. After that, your new host will take over maintenance.

Q: How do I know if my SSL certificate is working?
A: Visit your site and check that the address starts with https:// and shows a padlock symbol. If it doesn’t, contact your hosting provider to reissue your certificate.

Q: What if I want to add new products later?
A: You can add or edit products anytime from the dashboard. The system automatically handles pricing, checkout, and downloads.

Q: Can I manage everything myself after the first three months?
A: Yes. You fully own your site and can continue hosting it with Djangify or move to another provider using your datadump backup.
